A Catholic Summit on Faith, Citizenship and Public Policy:
Our Challenge and Our Responsibility
August 12-14, 2011 Denver, Colorado
Everyone is Invited!
The 2011 CALL Annual Members meeting and conference will be held August 12-14 in Denver, Colorado, and everyone is invited!
The theme of this year’s gathering is "A Catholic Summit on Faith, Citizenship and Public Policy: Our Challenge and Our Responsibility." The conference will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 12 and conclude by 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 14.
In 2005, when the first group of Hispanic leaders gathered at St. Malo Retreat Center in Allenspark, Colorado, they envisioned that someday there would be a summit of Catholic leaders from across the country. That day has come!
You are invited to be a part of this year’s event – CALL’s annual members meeting and conference. The summit will feature national speakers, authors and panelists and our agenda will focus on how we combine faith, citizenship and public policy in our daily lives. It promises to be a lively conference and the best attendance ever!
Confirmed speakers include Archbishop Jose Gomez of Los Angeles, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver, Bishop Thomas Olmsted of Phoenix, Dr. Mark Lopez of the Pew Hispanic Center, attorney Carlos Iturregui, formerly of the Department of Homeland Security, businesswomen Wendy Dominguez, Diana Vela, Nora Urrea, and Nancy Hernandez, Fr. Michael Barrett of Houston, economist Dr. Brian Cadena of the University of Colorado, Dr. Jonathan Reyes of Catholic Charities of Denver, and entrepreneur and merchant banker Frank J. Hanna, III.
We are fortunate to be having this year’s event at Denver's JW Marriott at Cherry Creek, who is one of the sponsors for this event.
We urge you to spread the word to your friends and colleagues and to mark your calendars. Please plan on attending! The deadline for registration is July 17. After that date hotel rooms and rates will not be guaranteed.
